Ararat 1 - Istanbul 1

We left Bucharest at 4:30 PM . After a long journey wıth Marina-Varvar transportation company(which worth all the money, and I recommend it), we arrive in Istanbul at 4 AM. The bus driver called 2 taxies for us. We decided to use them to arrive to hostel and also to airport the next day. Price per car = 50 euros.
At the hostel we took a room of 6 people and shared some beds for 60 euros, next day another 60 euros, for 7 of us, including breakfast.
We will go today to visit Istanbul.

Duminica Floriilor - Palm Sunday

Yesterday was the Palm Sunday - Duminica Floriilor, the last Sunday before Easter in Romanian orthodox calendar. The plan was to visit a monastery but because the car didn’t want, we rescheduled to go to Mogosoaia Palace. We enjoyed the gardens and the nearby landscape, with fishermen and flowers.

Bucureşti & Chişinău

Last two days I’ve been in the University Square, in the middle of Bucharest to attend the demonstration of solidarity with the youth from Republic of Moldova

For me this was more like a civic activity and also I was courious what is happening.

Details on the situation : BBC , blog1, blog2, blog3,blog4, blog5).

IMHO what happened at Chisinau was not like a revolution, but more like anarchy. And in Bucharest people were not really focused on something real: they were alternating the requests from union to new elections or new regim. But I also think that Romanians should react more, there were not many Romanians attending the demonstration but more students from Moldova.

After the demonstration we went and drank a beer directly from the source:

PS: I think the old man was broadcasting for his nephews in USA :))

Spring is in the air!

As spring came, I get my self in the state of starting to write on this personal blog. Why I made the pause? Because the previous hosting was provided by a third person who made some DNS farming and as a result its account ended up quickly. I only got 2-3 days last year to save my work. It took me a while to get a new hosting service, and today I discovered it is not very hard to import the old posts in the blog. Still, the comments are missing and also the pictures :(. I’ll try to put them back(UPDATE - I manage to add also the comments).

we landed at 4:20 PM and at the airport Frederico, the son of the host was waiting for us;
we were hosted in a little and clean room with 2 beds, in a beautiful vila located on street Gramsci paying 75 euros + 20 euro the transport from/to the airport
we ate “gelata italiana” at Gelateria “Le Biolle”; 2×2.20 euro ( 3 scoops each)
- whiskey cream, fiori di latte, chocollate
- limone, straciatella, ambrosio
we walked through the village; the houses have an unique style, dinstinguished, italian and mediteranean with beautiful gardens, exotic trees and neat grass
during our walks we found a shop with nice, antique, indian furniture
- an wordrobe made from accacia wood, costs 870 euro
Cardano al Campo is a very beatutiful village with narrow streets and nice coulored houses and smelling flowers
we searched for the restaurant recommended by Frederico and we found on Via Roma, la Trattoria Fantesia; because they didn’t let us stay on the terrasse we left and went to a pizza house that we saw before and liked it: Arte Pizza
we ate a delicious Capriciosa Pizza (5 euro):
- the bread was made in front of us
- lite ham, mushrooms, anchois, artichokes, olives and mozarella
we drank 2 glasses of cold zipfer beer (2 x 4 euro)
back to the house we were served by the host with 2 beers on th house (Perlen Bachen) on the terrace in front of the house surrounded by the local cats
