Tudor Gheorghe - Concert
“La Margine de imperii” is the last concert of one of the most genuine Romanian singer, Tudor Gheroghe. When Tatiana suggested to go for the tickets, I jumped in without any hesitation. There was a long time since, we both wanted to go to a concert of this artist. This concert was special, because it presented new-old songs, from Bucovina, the place where me and Tatiana where born. The singer received a book that contained over 400 songs from Bucovina, gathered at the beginning of the XX century, by some Austrians sent by the Austro-Hungarian Empire which ruled the region at the time. The concert was a blessing, here bellow a fragment:

2008 Bucharest, NATO Summit
Last week, Bucharest was the host for the biggest NATO summit according to this source. The event was supported by the Romanian state and by Bucharest inhabitants. I won’t write anything that can be found in the news papers. It is true, that Bucharest was cleaned and beautified before the summit, and it is true that the activity of the capital was affected. But also is true that the event was a success. More abut the back stage here.
I was amazed to read a blog entry like this, where people that are characterized to be smart are talking about the event like it was just another Romanian fiasco, and Romania is a second hand country. I can’t say that I’m very proud about being Romanian, but I can say that I’m prouder after this event. You can’t escape from a mentality of a loser by whining about how things are. May be, this is the faith of Romanians. The is a Romanian folklore poem called “Mioritza“, that expresses some how the pitch of the Romanian soul: looking at the facts without having a reaction, contemplating is a bless and a curse, or may be it’s like this?
Some how I felt at this summit that some things are changing, that we can prove to be good hosts, like we like to think about us and we prove to be able to use the second biggest building in the world The House of the People, to its real value.
Congratulations Romania & Bucharest!

Love in the Time of Cholera
Wednesday night, Orange movie at Movieplex. Taty suggested to see Love in the Time of Cholera. I looked at the trailer and we decided to go for the 22:15 show. I think that the movie deserves more thant the rank on IMDB. I laught and feel good watching it, even I didn’t like the plot too much. I’ve seen a Javier Bardem (Florentino) much more different than the one from No country for old men and I could say it’s is an interesting actor, with substance. Giovanna Mezzogiorno (Fermina) was very pretty and had an aristocratic air, which I liked.
I would like to say more about the novel. I think Florentino is a little bit insane. His life stopped at some point and didn’t changed despite the time. His stubbornness amazed me and also his patience and calm. I can’t say this is a real story… in real life, people go crazy easier and things go bad more often. But we don’t go to movies to see real life, may be we need from time to time, things to work the other way just to see it is possible. The movie presents only Florentino’s thoughts as they were, naked(through monologue), while Fermina’s thoughts are presented in dialog, from outside.
I tried to imagine the same story with common people, with common resources, but probably it is not worth it…common people don’t live such lifes

Locuri in Romania
I received a task from Mihai to write about 5 places that I would take a tourist in Romania. This is very interesting, as I was in this position at one moment, and I thought it was a hard thing to do, not because there are no places, but because, me as a Romanian guy I have this strange desire to show only the bright side of my country, so always I was asking if the place is good enough. Probably it is something natural, but I think that one person who wants to know better one place, wants to see also the dark side. There is no place that has only good or bad things.
now I will list some of the places that I consider worth seeing and represents Romania in a bright light:
1. Palatul Mogosoaia
2. Castelul Peles
3. Castelul Bran si culoarul Rucar-Bran
4. a concert with Taraf of Haidouks
5. Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara, may be some german villages from Transilvania
I attached to pictures of Peles Castle and Bran Castel taken last weekend, when Tatiana, Marius and me showed 3 of the places to an American guy.

Attitude and approach
As Taty said in her blog, attitude is a magic word for a right living. Good attitude gives you the energy to go further when things don’t go as you want.
But attitude is not everything. Approach is a key word also. I can have a good attitude, but if the approach is bad, things can go in a wrong direction any time.
The relation between attitude and approach is almost the same, between idea and implementation.
It is mandatory to have a good attitude, as is mandatory to have a good idea. And for succeeding is mandatory to have a good approach, as is mandatory to have a good implementation.

Friends
It’s nice to meet old friends an to talk about things that happened and things that will happen
It’s nice to make new friends, to find the same interests and the same oppinions about life…
It’s nice to help friends without waiting anything in return…
It’s nice to receive a message from a friend telling you that he/she is happy with a situation, and didn’t forget you …
It’s nice to have FRIENDS

The quote of the day
There isn’t a quick fix in life … I heard this on an interview of Anthony Robbins with Steven Covey. So knowing the measure of these people, I can only restate.
The picture is taken the last weekend, at Talea - near Breaza.
